Recruit Safe has a commitment to complying with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) from Schedule 1 of the Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012. Personal information is information or data than can be used to identify or contact an individual.
What kind of personal information do we collect and hold?
In order to register with and/or have business dealings with Recruit Safe all parties, that is jobseekers, applicants, candidates, employers, clients, suppliers and business service providers must provide us with certain personal information. Personal information we receive and store includes but is not limited to such things as business and personal contact details, for instance business and personal names, job titles/occupation, email and street addresses, phone and fax numbers. For businesses ABN and company logos and for jobseekers personal information extends to education, qualification and employment history which includes obtaining personal information of third parties, that is business names, personal names, titles, contact numbers, street and/or email addresses of previous employers, managers, referees and training providers.
How do we collect and hold personal information?
We collect personal information by phone, email or in person, over the internet www.recruitsafe.com.au or through our affiliated business www.appointme.com.au website or App AppMe_RecruitMe. We hold personal information in our secure online database.
Why do we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information?
We bring people together with other parties (third parties and service providers) for the purpose of introduction for potential training, professional development, recruitment and employment services. We collect personal information for these purposes and for the purposes of administration and processing and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all parties. We will use the information we collect for the recruitment, professional development and/or training process. We will only disclose personal information collected to our contracted service providers with your prior approval, other than where required by law. We may also collect information about you from others (referees) with your prior approval for the recruitment process i.e. reference checking. If you do not provide us with the required information, we may not be able to assist you with training and professional development or introduce you to employers for potential work, recruitment/employment. We may also use personal information for internal auditing or research to improve our services.
Personal information we collect also allows us to keep you updated on our services, updates and upcoming events. If you don’t wish to be on our mailing list you can opt out anytime by updating your preferences.
From time to time we may use your personal information to send important notices, such as communications about changes to our terms and conditions and policies.
We may also use personal information for internal auditing or research to improve our services.
How and why do we collect, hold, use and disclose non-personal information?
Non-personal information is information that does not on its own permit direct association with an individual. Some examples of non-personal information includes job titles/occupations, employment industry experience, language, suburb, postcode, salary and remuneration ranges, skills, qualifications and job history/experience.
We collect, use, transfer and disclose non-personal information for the purpose of advertising and promotion for recruitment and employment purposes.
How to access, update and correct your personal information that is held by us?
Jobseekers/applicants are required to ensure that contact information, job availability and preferences are up-to-date. You (all parties - jobseekers, employers and recruiters) can access your account at any time by logging in with your username and password to update, change and or delete your personal information and profile at any time. Are we likely to disclose personal information to overseas recipients?
We are not likely to disclose 'personal information' to overseas recipients, however www.recruitsafe.com.au and www.appointme.com.au and the app AppMe is an on-line and digital service which is accessible on the World Wide Web (W3 or www, commonly known as the web) and so any non-personal information about you, which we promote with your prior approval will be available on the web.
Information Technology
Recruit Safe Pty Ltd and Appoint Me®, our interactive applications (on-line website and digital app service) and email messages use information technology to help us to provide you with a digital service that assists you in training, professional development and/or recruitment or employment services.
We use information technology to make your experience with Appoint Me user friendly, convenient and personal. For example, knowing your first name lets us welcome you when using our app.
Third parties and service providers
Recruit Safe and our affiliated company, Appoint Me (with your permission) shares personal information with third parties and service providers. We make every effort to ensure that all parties jobseekers', employers' and service providers' privacy and confidentiality is respected and that no information is disclosed to any party without prior permission. These parties are obligated to protect your information and acknowledge that they have a commitment to the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
We bring you together with other parties for the purpose of introduction for potential training, professional development, recruitment and employment services. We also provide links to third party (other) internet sites. Other internet sites and services have separate privacy and data collection practices. We encourage you to learn about the privacy practices of those third parties. Once you leave our websites or meet with potential training/professional development providers, or employers Recruit Safe has no control over the privacy policies and data collection activities of any third party or any other site.
We endeavour to ensure the security of all personal information held, where reasonably practicable. We will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information confidential and to protect it from misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We are committed to maintaining proper standards of technology and operational security to protect your personal information. However, information and documentation transmitted via the internet and the web cannot be guaranteed and Recruit Safe cannot accept responsibility for any information transmitted in this way.

Children
Recruit Safe does not knowingly collect personal or non-personal information from children under the age of 13. Privacy Questions or Complaints.
How can you complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles, or a registered APP code (if any) that binds us, and how we will deal with such a complaint?
You can lodge a privacy question, concern or complaint with us at any time, we will respond to your complaint as soon as is reasonably practicable but within 30 days. Complaints must be submitted in writing by email careers@recruitsafe.com.au visit. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may then complain to the OAIC.
